Hi there. I'm trying to re-learn Final Cut 7 on my old (12 years) MacBook Pro. I just imported some footage from my iPhone and my old Sony Handycam. I can view the video files separately, but I can't get the footage to appear on the preview viewer. I do hear the audio and when I edit the clip into the timeline, it does show up and I can see it on the right side viewer. Any suggestions on how I can view on the preview side would be appreciated. Thanks

The first and most obvious question would be: why in the world would you want to do that?

FCP cannot play iPhone footage. At least not without tediously transcoding it first. And by the looks of it, you're either zoomed in or need to set it to Image? It's been an equal amount of years since I've used (and trained) FC7.

Beyond that… good luck.
