Resolved Final Cut 7 export problem

Hello. I exported this video using this tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cje0TM2SW50&list=PL39AD178B2D9237F4&index=9&feature=plpp_video) which has worked for me previously but for some reason didn't this time. Do you know why it looks pixelated like this? my vid: http://youtu.be/qL-I1_C6LGc

Well i'll be darned. but it took 5000 to get a 1 minute video up to par, is that normal?

That is normal, most consumer HD cameras
shoot at 24,000, and pro cameras shoot at at least 50,000. Compressing footage like that to below 5,000 or really below 50% would result in major degradation.

Yep, that's really good. In fact, that's what Vimeo recommends for 720p, which is smaller than your 1080p! Often, for 1080p stuff I'll use 10,000 to 15,000kbps depending on the complexity of the footage.
