Find My Friends App - Orange outline around friend's icon

Does anyone know what an orange outline/border around a friend's icon in the Find My Friends app means? I'm not talking about the orange shadow which gives their approximate location, but rather an orange line running directly around their picture.

In this image, the orange outline would be directly around the blurred out picture (not the orange outline drawn in).

Any ideas?

Have never seen an orange line around the contact photo. Can you post a screenshot to show what you are talking about.

It happened only for a short time and I wasn't able to screenshot it exactly, but I've edited an image which pretty closely approximates what it looks like. I uploaded the image.

I'm really not sure. None of my 5 friends have that. Only the white ring.

If I am not mistaken, that means that it is showing their current location.
