Find my phone when switched off...

I have find my I turned on and find my network but can’t find my phone when switched off as it says it should be able to, can anyone help with this? How it works? Thanks.

What model phone do you have? It only works on certain models.

Add your iPhone to Find My so you can locate it if it’s lost.

Note this works by using other Wi-Fi or cellular connected nearby iOS devices to locate your phone. If there are no other iOS devices, your phone’s location won’t update. Also this only works if your phone had been powered off within the last 24 hours.
