iPhone SE (2016) "Finding" my Mac Book Pro on my iPhone "Find my"

MacBook Pro 15" 2016 running Mojave 10.14.6
iPhone SE running 14.7.1
I'm trying to set up FindMy on the iPhone. It has itself in the menu, also our old Apple Desktop but I cannot get it to find my Mac Book Pro.
Bluetooth is turned on, on both of the devices but I don't think it uses this does it? If I lose something it'll be out of bluetooth range.

Is your MBP Apple ID the same as your iPhone and turned on (find my Mac) ?

Try logging into your iCloud account using the Apple ID and see how many devices are on your account.
