I jailbreaked my iPod and installed several applications the other day but when I open iTunes it syncs but next to firmware it says n/a. And in settings- about in my iPod the firmware is n/a. Now when I try to install some apps through the new installer it says I need 1.1.1 to install whatever, but I do have 1.1.1 does anyone know why nothing can read the firmware version?

make sure your chmods are correct
also it sounds like you are symlinking your entire apps folder...

chmod -Rf a+x /private/var/Applications
chmod -Rf a+x /Applications

or remove your symlink, that actually helps... but you would have to delete alot of programs
