Hi all,

So I was feeling nostalgic, and decided to buy the same Power Mac G4 I had while I was at University in 2001. I got myself a Quicksilver G4, an Apple Studio Display and got it all up and running with Mac OS 10.4.11. I then installed the Classic Environment with no problems on the same boot volume.

Everything was working wonderfully, until out of curiosity I decided to try to boot directly into Mac OS 9.

And then... the dreaded flashing question mark!

I have tried rebooting holding down 'X'. I have tried booting holding down 'option' (but no Mac OS X system shows up). I have tried resetting the PRAM. All to no avail.

Does anyone have any idea as to how I can get back into Mac OS X?!

Help me! Please!

Colin

I've had that same problem from time to time and could never figure it out. Mine was the folder with a question mark flashing. But if i let it sit for about 2 minutes or so, eventually it would find the OSX system folder and boot up. It happens probably every 10 start ups or so on my G5 quad.
