FM car tuner best?

I use the tape for my car but my buddy does not have a tape player. He is looking for a good FM transmitter. I have not looked for a few years so the ones I thought were good are most likely no good. I's there a brand and model you guys prefer? We live in the east bay,CA. I let him use my old one and oddly got the best reception in SF, I thought the city would be worse, strange to me.
