Dell DA200, USB3.0 + Ethernet + VGA + HDMI 4 in 1. This dongle was made for XPS and is perfect for the macbook. With genuine Apple adapters they could easily cost over $100. The dell small and compact. One Amazon review confirmed that this works perfectly with 2016 MBP models.

Great choice for office worker who needs to give out presentations.

Thanks for sharing. However, the Amazon listing for this item claims that it is only able to output up to 1152 lines through HDMI, whereas the Apple equivalent is able to output 2160 (UHD) at 30Hz. Is this simply Dell understating the maximum output because it'd be at 30Hz rather than 60? Apple is a bit vague about the maximum output of the VGA multi port adapter, but I feel like it shouldn't be unreasonable to expect more than the 1600x1200 of the Dell version.

You are kidding right. You never heard of HDMI 2.

Of course, but that adapter is not HDMI 2.0, and nor are the majority right now. Even HDMI 2.0 can't go beyond 4K@60Hz, so DisplayPort is the only option for the bigger resolutions which are appearing. Maybe it's more future proof.

I was thinking about this dell adapter because I like that it has both VGA and ethernet, the HDMI and USB are great too. I went with the HooToo adapter which had SD, USB 3 x3 and HDMI which are the main ones I would need so I liked this combination for general use.

That has most of what I need but I'm still finding this dell adapter compelling because it combines the ethernet and VGA which would be a great work adapter like you say. Overall I don't need it yet so I'm holding off for a bit but I do think this dell adapter looks really great.
