Resolved Fortnite runs poorly on 2018 Macbook Pro

I've seen a couple videos of other running Fortnite on there Macbook Pro's 2017 & 2018 with 40-60fps. However when I tried, it gets between 15-20fps on extreme low settings.

What puzzles me in how the 2017 model with the Iris Plus 640 Graphics does so much better than my Iris Plus 655.

Is anyone else having this issue, it just doesn't make sense why mine runs so unbelievably bad

probably that's why it's not called a "macbook game"

though, just try to run it on windows, there are really few games that run decently on macos and fortnite isn't one of them

+1 to this.

Most of videos of MacBook gaming on youtube are in Bootcamp/ Windows.

The 13in model doesn't have a dGPU, so don't expect anything pretty at a good frame rate.

Are you sure they weren’t running it using an eGPU? Can’t imagine the MBP running Fortnite at 60fps otherwise

I was mainly comparing it to this video,

I don't want to install bootcamp just for Fortnite. I'll test it using Vmware and see if its any better. But yea guess shouldn't expect it to run well at all. Would've been a nice bonus

Don't, there's is almost nothing that runs better in the VMware than the actual MACOS or Bootcamp. Games especially.

virtual machine like parallels or Vmware dont work with games, you will get an error unless you install also some vwtools i think

A Virtualized environment will always be slower then a native environment. Game playing in Vmware/Parallels will be worse then bootcamp. I wouldn't even bother with that option.

They are playing it on Windows 10, on the actual mbp. So yes, you have to install Windows if you want to play it, or get a dGPU.
