front row with remote not working

ok, so i was fooling around with the remote, i found that if you hold the play button it will make the computer sleet, if you hold menu and the right key, it will lock the remote to the computer, not any other IR device, so i tried some other combinations, and after i tried the play and menu buttons the remote no longer worked. i logged out, restarted, and took the battery out of the remote but still nuthing...any help?

in system prefs under security, you can turn off the IR port on the imac, i turned it off and on, then beside it you can choose to pair one remote to the computer, or allow any remote to activate front row, since i only have one remote/IR thing in my room i set it to any, but you can pair the remote and imac again if you want by pressing and holding the fast-foreward and menu buttons
