Now with confirmation of the existence of GarageBand... we can look back at one anonymous submission which claimed knowledge of the same.

According to the anonymous report... the new "iApp" is called Garage Band and is a music creation tool, and should bundled with "the new group" for $99.

Also, coming from thie source is claims that the new mini iPod is "credit card sized" and costs $249. A cheaper version is also reportedly available, but no details known. One dubious claim from the source, however, claims 10,000 songs... which at current bitrates would imply 40GB of storage.

For this reason, and the unknown reliability of this source, this is placed on Page 2, but is of potential interest with the confirmation of a "GarageBand" product.

remember... it's page 2.

maybe he was off by a decimal point (1000 songs, not 10000). Or it's all wrong, and was coincidence that the GarageBand name was mentioned.

iLife for $99 is pushing it. With or without GarageBand. Then again, last year at this time we thought the only way to get iPhoto 2 and iMovie 3 would be to buy the $49 iLife. That ended up being $49 for iDVD 3 basically. Peehaps Apple is going to be treating GarageBand as a $49 iApp, bundled with the rest (including the $49 iDVD "4") for $99.

Hmmmm.....

Update: More claims from the same source... The entry level iPods will be 10GB and 15GB regular (same as current form factor) iPods at $149 and $199. The $249 "Mini iPod" will be flash based an encased in anodized aluminum and come in colors.

This information, however, is inconsistent with all other sources of information, and as a result should be viewed with skepticism.

----------------

I personally don't think this is correct.

well, It may be inconsistent and turn out untrue, but it still sounds cool.

I really hope this turns out to be true.

I am however currently listening to my new 20giger and very content with it.

Maybe the flash based one will convince my dad to get one. :\

OT - New ElGato product

I'm sorry to post Off Topic but I apparently can't start a new top level thread. Ever since ElGato came out with the EyeTV300 and 400 I have been checking for evidence of 100 & 200.

It appears that the 100 is the original EyeTV:

http://www.elgato.com/eyeTV/eyetv100.html

and the 200 is the new EyeHome box:

http://www.elgato.com/images/front-items.gif

Not a big scoop, since it will be announced tomorrow I imagine. But it sheds light on the whole iBox thing...

Crazy crazy stuff. Things are getting pretty wacky as the Final Hour approaches... $150 is too much of a jump. Not believable.

If it's a super-small aluminum 10-gigger you want, you should re-read arn's post before you pass out. (Note the underlined part.)

I don't know. I can't see Apple cutting the price of the 10GB iPod in half. It's the #1 seller at its current pricepoint.

Oh come on

If this is true, I am fairly dissapointed from a personal point. I am going to buy a new ipod, but i really would like a redesigned something close to 10gig. A 4gb is worthless to me. On garageband, what a terrible program, I dont need loops, could use a recording app, like with quality recording effects, simply layed out for speed. Not what apple is producing. Iphoto those features would be nice. I really would hate to see the same exact ipod design, that we have see for a very long time, would really like somethin more there. That is just me though. :)

Damn lies. Flash isn't going to happen, period, unless there has been a huge breakthrough with the technology and Apple has told no-one....

Now, if anyone notices the extra padding in the butt area tomorrow, it will be for the Depends I'm wearing to school so I won't have to go to the bathroom to watch the Keynote/I won't get my pants dirty if something like this comes out.

This is blowing my source out of the water. If this is true, hold s***.

Yes. Over that in fact. The 2 GB chips are still around $600 each.

A solid-state flash based device is out of the question, but the compact flash format is not unreasonable.

It is most likely a Microdrive, but I doubt that it is the one from Toshiba or Hitachi. It is more likely to be one of the new players in the market, such as the 2GB chip everyone has talked about. Another possibility is the MagicStor 2.2 or 4.4 GB, but that is still $199 retail for the 2.2 GB drive and I don't think the 4.4 GB has been released yet.

Just heard from...

...a good friend of mine who works at Microsoft. They're going to announce the new Clean Sweep XP™ vaccuum cleaner tomorrow.

My buddy has heard high level executives as saying: "Finally. Now we can sell a product that doesn't suck."

I just hope whatever they introduce, they give some free ones to the audience. Not that I will be there, but I have a friend who is and promissed me I could play with it when she comes home.
