Hello!
I'm trying the opposite of what I keep seeing online - I want to get some static/white noise into my recording.

What I'm trying to do is to "deteriorate" my track: it gets more and more distorted until eventually it's static.
My idea was to fade in the static/white noise in and the distorted audio track out. Of course, if there's a better way to do that, I'm all ears!

Otherwise, is there a way to generate static/white noise in GarageBand?

I can't remember if Mac GarageBand got Logic's bitcrusher plugin. If so that would do the gradual deterioration part.
As for white noise, there isn't a facility to generate noise in GB. There is in Audacity though, which is great audio-only DAW that's free to download, and which I would recommend every Mac user into audio-creation just downloads as a matter of course on day 1 of getting a Mac.

Sorry for the late reply, got a bit sidetracked there.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will try those :)
