good deal on sound dock -- compatability?

looks like a pretty good deal on a docking system, has a built in dvd player.

i found a review for it on ilounge, http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/ilive-ihmd8816dt-home-docking-system/

however, its kind of old and i dont know if itll work with an iphone 3g. anyone have one of these, and can confirm that it does or does not? or is there like a work around setting i can mess with on my phone to ignore the "this accessory is not designed to work with blah blah blah" message?
