The iPhone XR/XS/XS Max had bad front camera according to my sister. I lost a camera feature when upgrade from my iPhone X to my iPhone XS Max for Christmas 2018 which was good front camera! My sister tried use her iPhone XS Max during the summer 2019 after her iPhone 7 Plus broke and exchanged it for her iPhone 8 Plus because bad front camera. My iPhone XS Max is my least favorite iPhone of my all iPhones ever!
I got good front camera back when upgrade from my iPhone XS Max to my iPhone 12 Pro Max for Christmas 2020. My sister upgraded to an iPhone 12 Pro Max from her iPhone 8 Plus and she think it's good front camera.
