I have a nine-year old whom I believe he as good ear for music. He can't play any musical instrument. I would like to start him with an instrument. At home, we have acoustic guitar, a bass guitar, alto saxophone, 88-Key weighted keyboard; he also has an iPad and a MacBook Air.

I would like him to start learning an instrument. There are tons of apps out there. Would anyone please advice me on a (good) music learning app, he can use? Personally, I would prefer the keyboard or guitar since both have lower maintenance after each use.

Thanks.

I’d recommend a music teacher. Despite what adverts say. You can’t effectively learn to play music from an app.

Invest in your child, and get them a skill for life.

Financially for the family, it is not very feasible at the moment to get a tutor.
