Hello,

i am not sure if this is directly related to Yosemite, but Google Chrome keeps creating an empty applications folder in my home directory. I can simply delete it, but whenever i restart google chrome it comes back.

Probably it is an issue with Google Chrome itself (and also present on Mavericks?!) , but maybe someone with the same problem knows how to stop this from happening?

Thanks a lot,

tumas

Well i guess i found a solution (somehow):

Obviously the creating of ~/Applications is normal behavior and not a bug:

"Chrome will use ~/Applications if /Applications is not writeable for a user"
(found here: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=307513)
Which means, that if you do not use your admin account, this directory will be created.

But there is a way to hide this specific folder in Finder with the following command from the terminal:
chflags hidden ~/Applications

The ~/Applications folder is also "stock" Mac. Have had it since I got my MBP in 2008 (Leopard).

For non-Chrome users, probably gets created during a clean install, since update installs should not touch anything in the user space.
