Pixel 6 is selling 699 in United States, however Google is apparently selling Pixel 5 in Canada for 799. With current exchange rate, 699USD is roughly 920 in Canadian dollars.

In contrast, Apple is selling 699USD iPhone 12 mini for 979CAD in Canada.

Which makes Pixel 5 more attractive to me. I am strongly considering Pixel 5, but I will wait until iPhone 12 mini first.

Actually the more compatible iPhone to the pixel 5 is the iPhone 12.

iPhone 12 is 146.7 mm height with a 6.1” screen

Google’s main revenue is from ads, not from selling Pixel phones. With the low selling numbers of the phones, imo it doesn’t matter if Google made a profit on it or not.
