I haven't seen any mention of this app on the forum, so thought I'd post a link.

goPod circumvents the volume limiter on EU iPods (3G, 4G and Mini). It's an elegant solution that works as you would expect, and without the drawbacks associated with similar apps. You can download it for free here:
