Got a free Power Mac

Having gained some notoriety in my town for being a Mac head everyone seems to dumping their old Apple stuff on me. My most recent addition is a fully functional Power Mac 8600!!! It even has a G3 card installed on it!
Here is a list of everything I got, I have hit the free collection jackpot:
Power Mac 8600 upgraded to a 300 mhz G3
17in Apple Vision moniter, the kind with 3 ADB ports on it
Keyboard and mouse
A 250 mb external SCSI HD
About 60 software titles from games to science programs
An Apple Laser Writer II, it weighs about 60 pounds
A set of Yamaha Speakers.. Horray, my iMac finally has some decent speakers
I feel so special, now to have fun with my new toy

I also collect old macs (they're unloaded on me!), but I've never got such a nice one as you got!

the 8600 has a lot of muscle and upgradablilty

u could even run os x on it with xpostfacto

the x600s were the king of the pre-g3 era. running os 9 on an old powermac is still very fast.

I think I will try to get the machine to Run OS X, although it has a Newer Technolgies G3 card in it, and I'm not sure if the card needs drivers before I upgrade to OS X.

I have that same printer hooked into my home network and it is a very good printer. I got mine free too. Free stuff is good. Very good.

hahaha! at least... those old laser writers don't die though... i have an old laserwriter8 hooked up to a performa running like OS7 or 8... that darn thing prints better than kinkos
