I have a series 5 space black stainless steel AW. I’ve heard horror stories about the space black Milanese loop and the DLC. Does anyone think the PVD coating on the graphite will be any better? Also, does anyone have any pictures of the graphite Milanese loop on the sb ss? Thanks in advance!

Lots of evidence in other threads here that the Graphite Milanese loop is also DLC and the PVD description on Apple’s site is a mistake (well, not technically since DLC is a subset of PVD). Several members here has scratched their Graphite watch with the Graphite Milanese loop. If you are worried about scratches, stay away from either Milanese loop version.

I appreciate your input. I think I will skip the Milanese loop this year. Thank you!

When you get a chance can you take a picture outside in sunlight, on your wrist?

Gifted my wife my old stainless steel space black watch and debating getting her the graphite Milanese or looking for a space black one

Thanks!

Hi, here are some photos I took last summer of a Space Black Series 5 and a Graphite Series 6 with their respective Milanese bands (both 44mm, the angle makes the SB look smaller).

Hope it helps.

i understand that the milanese loop could scratch the SBSS JUST in case you are not carefully during the wearing on/off or if you put your watch on the pocket?

I mean, in the daily use, when you just put on/off once your watch, may the loop ruins it?

I can confirm the graphite Milanese loop scratchs the screen as hell.

Pay attention!

I’m really really disappointed. I'm still the timeframe to return but I’m shocked about how it is easy to scratch the sapphire glass.

If the loop touch the screen, you’re done.

I’m afraid the loop may scratch the graphite iphone frame as well.

Damn!!!!!

They’ve definitely changed this band. I bought one a couple of years ago, but I returned it because it felt really scratchy compared to the stainless steel Milanese loop that I had. I went to pick up a series 8 today at an Apple Store, and I checked out the graphite Milanese loop, and it is almost as smooth as the stainless steel and gold versions. I bought one , it is very comfortable and I don’t worry at all about scratching.
