Hi, we couldn't resist: we just had to develop this app launcher / organizer (http://gridgets.com/).

Since app launcher currently have to live inside the browser, we thought that it would be nice to have a launcher that is as unobtrusive as possible.

What this means in detail:
- no branding on the start page: all the screen real estate is there for your widgets
- no toolbar, since safari already comes with two of them
- only as many buttons as necessary

What do you think? Since we live in germany, we haven't yet had the chance to get an iphone to test our site with. So any feedback from you is greatly appreciated.

Love to get your feedback,
Werner

I've just tested it in Safari but it's super smooth and cool.
Pretty brilliant, actually and a great idea, too.

Just played with it for 5 minutes on my iPhone and I like it better than any other similar app. Nice work. If I could set a home page on my iPhone, this would be it.

how about some sort of login, so I can create my gridget setup from my desktop, to be used on the iphone. Much faster!

Holy crap... You did a great job of duplicating the look of the iPhone's dashboard! My anal graphic designer eyes only noticed one inconsistency... :D

The font for the title of each app is weighted bold on the iPhone's interface and it is weighted as normal in your interface. Totally not necessary but it looks like you put quite the amount of work in to get it looking perfect, so I figured I'd mention it. :)

Love this app! By far the best reproduction of the phone's existing interface! Major props!

if you can make it to where the address bar automotically hides to give it the whole dashboard look that would be amazing so far i like it-uphonehome needs to be updated but i think this will be main app manager for the iphone

Wow!

Werner,

Absolutely great! Thanks for this, it was EXACTLY what I was wanting. I really only use three to five apps so now my page is just what I want.

Thanks
:D

Great job! I'm still working on my own launcher, but MAN is the field getting crowded! Regarding the toolbar, Safari only comes with ONE toolbar, you can make the top one go away with a simple trick. That would be a lot of reclaimed screen realestate to use for other purposes. I really don't think anyone would mind branding, its a natural part of modern life. :D You interface graphics (when they appear) are very very excellent. Solid, great stuff.

I love it, this is much better than the other ones, and the ability to add one using url is genius.

BTW, Does anyone know of an icon I can use for FlickIM :) ????
