Hi all!

Just wondering how much the price of iPhones this year will increase in countries from eastern Europe, such as Romania. I think is worth mentioning that there is no official Apple Store in this area, only authorised resellers.

For example, last year, I have bought my iPhone 14 Pro Max, 128Gb, on 18th of October 2022 from iStyle (the autorised reseller) with 7300 RON. Prices at that point:

Romania: 7300 RON (1477€/1600$)
UK: 1199£ (1395€/1515$)
US: 1099$ (1012€)

I think UK is more relevant when comparing the prices, BUT, if there will be a price increase in the US, as rummored, this will clearly reflect on European prices as well.

So, quick maths (taking into consideration last year’s differences):

100$ increase:
US: 1199$ (1103€)
UK: 1308£ (1522€)
RO: 7970RON (1613€)

200$ increase
US: 1299$ (1196€)
UK: 1419£ (1650€)
RO: 8646RON (1749€)

“Fun” fact:
Average wage (approximate)
US: 50k-60k $/year (46k-55k €/year)
UK: 27k-33k £/year (31k-38k €/year)
RO: 708k-876k RON/year (14k-18k €/year)

I know the sum itself is not relevant when considering the cost of life in any of these countries, but still, the iPhone is the same (besides US I guess since you have no SIM tray :D)

What do you think? Worth upgrading? :))

Note that, on the used market I could sell my phone now with around 4500 RON which is ~ 900€/990$.
