ok, kind of a computer. actually, from what i have read and viewed, this was a top of the line hybrid typewriter/word processor, and remains highly desirable and pretty high priced. that said, this is a dump pick, so i don't know its history. i've given it a partial cosmetic cleanup. it power on, meaning the ribbon cartridge adjusts. but that is it. it does not reset the cartridge on rails, or respond to key commands.

i'm hoping it is a small issue. couldn't find much online regarding troubleshooting. anyone here have any knowledge they would like to impart?

well, cleaned the front and rear carriage rails with alcohol, and rubbed on a coat of wd40. viola! carriage reset, and the machine is active! i'm going to sell this item, as i don't really need it and its takes up a large footprint. there are also lots of secret IBM keyboard button tricks to reset things, etc that i don't want to know about. i will let an experienced buyer reset the whole system.

noticed typing, that the key and daisy are not in sync (wrong character).
