Hard drive filled up after High Sierra upgrade on MacPro

I don't see anything there that looks off. I think what is happening is just the storage readout there is wrong. Reindex Spotlight by running the command below in Terminal and it should fix it.

sudo mdutil -E /

Give it a half hour or so to complete.

Yes I have 30GB of mail. I've have to change my hoarder ways.

The best way to proceed is to close Mail, reboot, log in, then move the offending file to another folder, like your desktop. Open Mail.app and check if you have any problems. If all is well, delete the file.

I can almost guarantee you, you will mess up your Mail stored IMAP GMail if you delete that.

What you could do is go to gmail.com and in the IMAP settings lower this message storage setting. The older messages would still be on gmail.com if you ever need them.

Thanks you both for all of your help. I ended up deleting the gmail accounts from Mail and then deleting the log files. I'm going to try accessing the email from the browser for a while. Might go back to mail to see if it has the same problem.

So the Users folder is consuming 407 gb, while I dig into it the current user is only consuming 106gb. I have deleted the second User profile before running the commands, so there is only one User profile now, so not sure where the other storage is going. Can you please advise how to get back the storage?

Yes, I see only one user profile (and the guest profile). The second user profile is deleted. I have emptied trash (trash had only 7gb and can see that being recovered under users) and ran the command again. Please see below:

Mmmm, looks weird. There is another user too which is taking 300gb, but dont see the user in the Users and Groups under system preferences (see screenshot).
