I've recently formatted my MacBook Air and am now having difficulty recovering it from the Apple website. The bootable installer I've create from Apple website produces a verification error - This copy of the Install OS X El Capitan application can't be verified - when I try to use it. I've tried changing the dates in terminal but that doesn't work for me. I'm now trying to force an install of the bootable installer from terminal but is producing an error - see below:
-bash-3.2# installer -pkg /Volumes/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan/Contents/SharedSupport/OSInstall.mpkg -target /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD
installer: Error the package path specified was invalid: '/Volumes/Install OS X El Capitan/Contents/SharedSupport/OSInstall.mpkg'.
Can anyone see why it's not running properly? The path is correct and the USB appears to be mounted properly
Thanks
Rog
