Hello all, totally new to this forum and I do not have a mac since my last (Mac SE). I am mostly a PC and Linux person. However, I am trying to fix the mac of my neighbor who does not have any install DVD and the mac exhibits a white page at start up. With a friend who has a laptop mac, we could not read the drive. So, I assume it is dead. I have a one TB drive laying around (Firecuda) and I can use it as a substitute.
The Mac has two 2GB DDR2 Ram on it but I might put two 4GB that I have laying around.
My issue is that I cannot get a fresh copy of the OS as I cannot get it from the Itune store. I know how to make USB bootable. Just do not know how to get the image of the install and image it onto a bootable drive.
