Help! My mostly used Apple Note thread on my mac suddenly reverted to January 2017

I'm verry disappointed i'm losing over a year of logs. Haha i keep a diary of shows etc that i watched and it just reverted back to January 2017 over a year of content from July 2018. I don't understand.

But threads i've made recently in 2018 aren't different at all. I'm not sure what's happening how to get my notes back!

I don't remember deleting anything or even updating!

Please help i really want my notes back.

need more info:
do you have/use iCloud?
have Notes been checked to sync between iOS and macOS devices?
do you have/use Time Capsule?
do you have any backup at all of any of your files?
based on answers to above we might be able to give specific help.
