Help need the toughest case available

Hi I'm going on a four month backpacking trip in New Zealand, Australia, Thailand and India, and I am looking for the toughest case available for the 4g Touch.

I know that otterbox makes the toughest cases, but I don't think it will be available before my trip.

So what is the second toughest case, that can protect my ipod?
