My inlaws have moved in with us. As part of the estate planning and such we were discussing files, accounts and passwords.

If there computer crashed today we would have nothing.

Looking for recommendations for a cloud back up, doesn't have to be any things overly sophisticated.

Also, they want to keep their password list separate. Not sure what that means nor did I venture to ask.

Is there a means to store a password file on some sort of secure/encrypted usb drive.

I appreciate any help. TIA

Just use some sort of Local backup solutions, simplest being Time Machine on macOS, but lacks portability (you cannot expand your backup drive to a higher capacity one).
Password list I have no idea what kind of list he/she is referring to, but putting it inside an encrypted drive is a good idea. Just don’t forget the encryption password of that drive.
