macOS Help with Permissions

Here's what i've got:

I have systems with local accounts in X 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4
I am connecting these systems to an Active Directory domain. So Users will login differently.

I need help making a local account with shortname "jimbo" to work with the AD account of "james"

Basically after i connect through the domain i get a local home folder of "james"

and I need to determine what permissions are needed to copy the "jimbo" stuff correctly so that it works. ie. dock, prefs, sys settings, background etc.

any thoughts would be great.
