I tried playing a file with these specs

Streaming + using:

- nPlayer (paid), last version
- The iPAD PRO 10.5
- iOS 10.3.2

And couldn't help but notice slowdown in a specific scene, audio and image out of sync... it really looked like either iOS or the player couldn't handle the content as being too heavy.

The funny thing is that I can stream Blu-rays (lossless, Matroska files) with the same player and despite the "loading" I get in this scenario (since 30-40 GB files are huge) I never had the same issue.

Which raises the question: is this due to the HEVC codec (and my only alternative is to use iOS 11)? Is this happening only due to iOS 10 or there is another reason for it?
