One common complaint about the previous generation magic keyboard is that charging the iPad through the USB-C port on the keyboard was a significantly slower process then using the actual port on the iPad.
According to this article:
The original Magic Keyboard passed through up to 22W through the Smart Connector.

For the new magic keyboard and the new M4 iPad Pro, Apple has upped the charging speed from the magic keyboard’s passthrough smart connector to 60W, according to MKBHD.
8:35 is the timestamp.
A pretty dramatic increase if true.

This is the fastest I could get my new 2024 Magic Keyboard to charge with Apple’s 140 watt power brick and Apple’s 240 watt USB-C cable. It never got over 38 watts of charging speed.

Can you do the same test, directly connected to the iPad and measure how much wattage it pulls from a low state of charge?
