iPad Hiding the floating keyboard??

I certainly hope that I'm missing something and this isn't just another gross iOS 13 oversight, but when pinching down to use the floating keyboard on iPad, there's no way to hide it. I have to expand back to full size keyboard and then hit the hide button.

Am I missing something? That's a lot of extra steps to take...

Just tap out of the editable field and the keyboard goes away automatically.

Ah ok that works in Pages. Notes apparently is a full-screen editable field.

Just tried that and got the same result. You can tap on the list of notes on the left and make it disappear, though.
