I am seeing a huge jump in the kernal_task's Bytes Written number after upgrading to 12.1 from 12.0.1. In the previous version, it used to be ~8GB/day but now it seems to be ~30GB/day with normal usage.

Is anyone else facing this issue?

On the other hand, the "Swap Used" has been fluctuating a lot around ~1GB (Previously it used to be ~1.5GB stable). Is this the reason why the Bytes Written data is so high?

Why do you think ~30 GB/day is a problem? That would be about 10 11 TB/year. Not a problem for modern SSDs.
