1400 x 900 would be so sweet, im sure I've seen a 13" lappy somewhere with one!..
Indeed. This is why it would be nice to see a fully functional dpi scaling feature in Leopard. Reducing dpi to 89% results in an effective resolution of 1440x900. You can experiment with it in Leopard or in Tiger by typing the following into the Terminal:
defaults write -g AppleDisplayScaleFactor .89
Open a new application (or close and re-open a current one), and you'll see the difference. If there weren't so many bugs, I'd use it full time.
You can return to your normal dpi levels by typing in:
defaults write -g AppleDisplayScaleFactor 1
