The iWatch could be used nicely for this. I can't believe I didn't think of that before. And in that case I hope they let me change it to say "Hey, KITT."
With iBeacons and iWatch occupancy detection could be enhanced past basic motion sensors. Also iWatch can detect a user sleeping (heart rate and motion patterns) and automatically set the house to sleep mode.
