I'm moving in to a new house over the next few weeks and would like to start getting it connected as soon as possible. I've done some research on different HomeKit compatible items (i.e. Phillips Hue, GE Wink, etc) but wanted to see if anyone had any advice on which system is best from their own experience. I'm not looking to invest hundreds of dollars yet, I would just like to get started with something simple - whether its light bulbs, thermostat, security, etc.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

*This may be in the wrong thread, if so I apologize.

I have Wink. I currently have a bunch of the GE bulbs, and a fire/CO detector.
The lights are great. Sometimes there is a slight delay between you turning it on/off on your phone and it actually happening.
I'm about to install a new thermostat wire in my house in order to use a wifi thermostat. I'm probably going to try Quirky's Norm instead of Nest, Lyric or others.
