I know when the regular apps are on my ipod touch i can check when its hooked up to itunes, and i can check how much each individual app takes up by right clicking and more info

But as i don't have an ipad yet... is there a place where i can check how much space they all take up when just in itunes

Right click on each App within iTunes and show in Finder. Right click on the highlighted file and select Get Info. The size of each App will be displayed.
