Hello.

I have a MacPro4.1 based on the Xeon X5570 2.93 GHz with an ATI Radeon HD 4870 video card.
VMware ESXi is now installed on it.

I tried turning on the computer by healing the "Option (⌥):" and "Command (⌘) -R" keys, but it didn't work out for me.
VMware ESXi is always loaded.

My question is this:
- Can I install OS High Sierra with a usb flash card? How can i do it?
- Can I replace the HDD with SanDisk SSD PLUS 240GB?
- Can I replace the GPU with a more powerful AMD Radeon RX 580 8 GB model?

I would be very grateful for your help.

- Best to google: Install Mac OS from USB Drive. Look for DiskMaker X
- Yes. This will make a very noticeable improvement in the responsive and performance of your Mac Pro. It's a little small, but will work easily for OS and applications
- Yes. 10.12.6 supports it. But it doesn't show up as that name in the system. I works - I've done it. But better support in High Sierra.

The "Option (⌥):" and "Command (⌘) -R" are for Internet install, not supported on your MacPro.
Sierra can still be downloaded from this Apple link, scroll down to step# 4.

Then follow the advice from kohlson regards to Diskmaker X, available here..
