How can you set an alarm to go off on the iphone from me/calendar?

I can set alarms to ring from the calendar on the iphone. It doesn't appear that I can do the same (set up an appointment) from me/calendar to ring on the iphone. Alarm reminders seem to go hand in hand to remind yourself that an appointment is coming up. Any suggestions?

a good question. ive always just used the alarm, but i had to set it every morning. it would be alot easier if you could use it on the calender and set alerts for the week or month, what have you.

wouldnt this also cater to the business crowd that apple want to get?
