How did Apple implement this into their webpage? iphone anime

I'm referring to the "watch the new ads" on the left hand side of the page

It's intriguing to me because it auto animates when browsing this page with your iPhone, and I'd like to implement something similar on my websites to make them more iPhone friendly.

-It doesn't require the user to start play.
-It doesn't look like a gif ( i could be wrong )
-I couldn't tell much by looking at the html code. I only found adpromo1 and there was only one matching reference to that ID

They are using a cross-fade technique.

If you check out this file, you can see the adpromo divs that are created:

Also, the corresponding AC.CrossfadeQueue that is doing the work:

If you check out this CSS file, you can see the images are set as background images of their respective divs (ie. adpromo1, adpromo2, etc).
