I must be stupid because I’m finding it very confusing to simply browse what’s on AppleTV +. There’s no dedicated app on my AppleTV, just the ‘AppleTV’ one which is a mess of some Amazon Prime stuff, BBC iPlayer stuff, some Apple TV+ stuff and loads of iTunes stuff to buy.

I never use the app for iPlayer or Prime stuff as they have dedicated apps but it seems like it’s the only way to access Apple TV Plus stuff.

Am I doing it wrong?

No, you’re not doing it wrong ;) The only way to access the Apple TV+ content is via the normal TV app but if you scroll down a bit in the app there are sections which are dedicated to Apple TV+ stuff.

That’s weird as I did scroll down but I didn’t see any sections dedicated to TV+ stuff. The main scrolling picture at the top was mostly ATV+ stuff but it wasn’t obvious it was even included. I just know it is because I follow Mac news.

Open the TV app and scroll down just a little bit and you will see something similar to this:

Then scroll down a little more and you will see this:

Just select the any of those icons to see the available content. It's just like any of the other Channels in the TV app.

You’re welcome. The confusing naming conventions don’t help.

Can’t blame you. It really is a mess. This is what happens when selling content including your competitors content is more important than customer experience. It becomes a mess.

I have an older AppleTV ( pre 4K) , running 6.2.1.

no sign of AppleTV+ with this device.

can I not watch AppleTV+ content on my AppleTV?

I have a second generation appleTV - which doesn’t seem to support appletv+.

so I can stream anything from iTunes (movies, tv shows) on my Apple TV except apple content.

go figure.

for me this means any atv+ viewing is limited to my mobile devices. Airplane time killer content.

Nope, the 2nd generation ATV isn’t supported. If you were so inclined you could purchase a new one and get a free year of TV+

Yeah.. it really frosts my cookies that I can't use USB-C on my Apple II. The 2nd generation AppleTV is 9 years old. Time for an upgrade.

9yrs old - I get it - but it purchases and streams all the other content from their store just fine.

so, a little surprised by this.

I already get atv+ content free - as I bought an iPhone 11 pro.

I’m not inclined to buy a new atv just to check out apples free programming. So for now, it’s airplane time killer content on my iPad when I travel.
