iPhone How does Wifi work on Ios11?

Apologies if this is a noob question.

Just updated to iOS11 from 10.3.3. Whenever I’m not at home I’m used to turning off wifi from control centre to save battery. In iOS11 though it sort of half turns it off from Control Center. If I don’t disable it from Settings would it drain battery?

Your battery drain will be minimal. Not enough whatsoever to worry about.
