So my girlfriend has an iPad Mini 2 and I'm curious how iOS 12 is for the Mini 2. I know it's a big improvement over iOS 11, but I made sure she didn't upgrade to 11 last year after seeing all the complaints. It still runs a big slow on 10.3.3 so I'm wondering if it's worth the upgrade to 12 or should I just leave it as is. I haven't seen much in terms of comparisons for iOS 12 for people coming from 10, so I figure I'd ask here.

Thanks.

Probably sluggish. I had a 2 and upgraded to the 4 in 2017 and even it had its sluggish moments. The 5 however rocks!

I’ve been running the iOS 12 on my iPad Mini 2. I think it’s actually running even a bit better than on some of the few previous iOSes. I use the Mini 2 only rarely anymore, so I’m not sure which iOS it was, but it tended to drag a bit more.

Upgrade to the Mini 5 as I did.
