It’s anyone’s guess. I’m thinking one or maybe two more.

I’m guessing a couple hundred more times. My generation would worry about that many “fixes” and look for something better. Life back then didn’t advance exponentially

Agreed. I'm pretty sure my X had some version of iOS 11 on it December of 2017.. I'd say iOS 17 is a good possibility

yeah. iPhone X processor is significantly better than iPhone 6s, so i also think that it will have at least 3 more iOS upgrades or even 4...

I had the 6S before the X and loved that phone.. I had the battery replaced and use it as a backup device to this day.. If the X ages as well as the 6S has it will be in great company

iPhone 6 launched with iOS 8. Last version that can run on it is iOS 12.
iPhone 6s with iOS 9 and still get iOS 14. 6 iOS versions already and again iPhone 6s is still quite snappy with iOS 14.

The X was my favorite phone. Something about it made it feel so special and expensive. Even compared to my 11 pro Max it just felt better. I’d say you could get at least to iOS 19. It’s aged really well and the processor is still really good on it. Apple is still selling the XR which is only a 1 generation newer chip then the X.

iPhone 6s launched with iOS 9 is now supporting iOS 14. So, I think iPhone X should get iOS 16 at least(X launched with iOS 11). But since processor on X is better, it could get iOS 17.

Probably 2-3 more. But I’d change it already, the battery life sucks onwards of iOS 12 and has got worse with each OS update. The camera sucks too.

I would guess at least 2 more? Maybe 3 or 4 at most?
Having used a relatives iPhone X recently it seems to be still running perfectly on iOS 14 with decent battery life, so I think it’s still got a lot of go in it.
correct. i am also using my iphone X since 4 years ago and it is still very smooth for everyday tasks without issue at all. it can certainly last longer than 3 to 4 more years without slowing down.

Logically, iOS 16 will drop all devices without bigLittle architecture, and with apple’s recent patterns, iOS 17 would be the “S” version of iOS 16, so it would continue to work for everything that takes iOS 16, then iOS 18 would probably be the first to go all Bionic, and iOS 20 may be the first one to use the A12 as the bionic benchmark.

it seems lately Apple has only dropped devices on even numbered releases. iOS 15 takes everything iOS 14 does, 13 took everything 12 did, 11 took everything 10 did except 32-bit A6 devices, 9 took everything 8 did.

I'd say till iOS 17-18. iOS 15 was disappointing.

If your prediction is correct, that means my iPhone 7+ will outlive my Samsung phone. :D
