Hey. In order to back up to my new iPhone I need to be on same
Software. How do I downgrade mine to 14.1?

If you have been running the beta, remove the profile from your phone and enter DFU mode. It will set up your phone as new with 14.1

If I set up as new. I’ll lose all my things on my phone.

I don’t follow the instructions. Sorry

I just removed the beta as I’ve had this problem setting my new phone up. What do you do once in DFU mode in regards to transferring things into the new phone may I ask?

I removed the beta and my iPhone states 14.2

Just add the beta to your new phone the do a restore. That’s the easiest way and you lose nothing

I believe you are correct. The price of beta testing.
Someone else said you can activate the new phone without setting it up -- quickly install the same beta profile you had on your old phone -- install 14.2 -- then do a reset and then setup.
