In my iPhone I have a new German Telekom Prepaid SIM which gives me Internet on the phone. Additionally I can use the iPhone with this SIM to tether from my iPad to the iPhone. This works perfectly.

However, when I tether from my MacBook to the Phone I don't get internet. I do not get the interconnected two chain links in the menubar, instead the following "No Internet" icon:

To be clear, MacBook and iPhone do on some level connect, because in the Wifi menu the two chain links appear as active:

But in the menu itself I always end up the before shown "No Internet" icon. (This means taht no IP address could be assigned -- but this assigning obviously works from the iPad!)

How can I debug this situation to find out what's going wrong? Are there somewhere helpful logs for this specific problem? Maybe in the Console app?

All pointer are very much appreciated!
