How to do a clean install of OS X Yosemite?

I got the OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 1 file. How can I make it so I can boot from a flash drive and do a clean install of OS X Yosemite? Do I need some sort of activation key? I'm not a developer. Thanks!

Install it on a separate partition. You REALLY don't want to use it as your main OS at this point. Weird things like windows growing 10x the screen size, and other things. It even destroyed my partition tables.
