I purchased a Mac mini mid 2011 it has two gig of RAM and it is a 2.3 i5

When I purchased it and used it ran fairly quickly but I upgraded it to Sierra now it runs very slow I never backed it up when it was running Lion

Is it possible for me to downgrade back to Lion?

You should keep it on Sierra and upgrade the RAM. You’re crippling the computer by trying to use it with 2GB.

well I took your advise and upgraded, I truly didn't think it would be much of a difference, on Window$ machine it is a difference but not a lot

well heck, I am impressed at the speed, I just don't like how the video card isn't powerful enough to push up to my native resolution of 2560x1080

PS I went from 2-1 gig stick of 1333
to 2-4 gig stick of 1600
and it runs at 1600 (or is says at least)

The 2011 Mac Mini can drive displays up to 2560x1600px if you use the mini Displayport connector rather than HDMI.
